Windy Ride!

Lord Hill
Heather & I met in outside Snohomish for a ride at Lord Hill.  The wind was blowing, the clouds looked ominous, Heather had forgotten her rain coat, but our luck held!  We didn't get rained on the entire ride!

Neither of us are too familiar with the trails there, but we managed to make a good ride out of a blustery start to March!  Coming up one wooded trail we were lucky enough to see two beautiful deer, standing in the trees.  Both horses worked up a good sweat early on, they're competitive - but get along well.  We did a lot of slower work, but a lot of climbing too - so it was a good workout.

I did see some places that I thought I might not have seen before?  It's pretty hard to get much more than ten-miles out of the trails here without doing a lot of doubling back.  We did feel like we'd pretty much been there done that by the time we were coming up on three hours.  Seemed strange to have the day be so warm, when it was so gray.  March did come in like a Lion with the non-stop wind though!  We could hear the trees creaking!

Once home, it was still warm enough that Farah got a bath, she just kicked back & enjoyed it!  Great  week for us, lucky to get in two fine rides with two friends!
